The Encore Azalea Autumn Carnation is a re-blooming intermediate sized variety that can bloom up to 3 time per year; spring, summer, and Fall. This shrub matures to 4.5 ft H X 4 ft W and produces masses of semi-double ruffled pink 2.5 In. blooms. The spring foliage of this Azalea will be bright green in spring then will turn dark green. In Fall the foliage will begin turning bronze-green and will be almost purple in winter. Use the Autumn Carnation in planting hedges, borders, foundations, in container gardens, or in mass in the landscape. Encore Azaleas will grow best is slightly acidic soils(pH 5.5-6.5) and when planted in a location that will receive 4-6 hours of sunlight per day. When planting dig the hole 2X the width of the size pot of the plant you are planting with a depth that will allow the root ball to be 1/4 to 1/2 In. above the soil level. Then use a well-draining garden soil mixed with your native soil to back fill the hole around your new Azalea. Use a slow-release slightly acidic fertilizer each year in spring to keep your Encore Azalea well feed to help maximize bloom production.
