This lid prevents accidental spills, keeps contents clean and guards against skimming. The tear strip creates a tamper-evident seal when placed on a pail (with hand or mallet) and cannot be removed until the tear-tab is torn off. Once the tear strip is removed, the lid can still be used, but will not be tamper-evident. It has a food grade EPDM gasket that provides a secure seal.
