The HVAC Basic MERV 8 pleated filter utilizes 100% synthetic media which offers significantly higher particulate efficiency than regular poly/cotton media pleated filters These filters capture airborne particles/allergens between 3-10 microns in size, such as pollen, mold spores, fine dust and pet dander The filter media will not promote the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew, or fungi in normal operating environments, and has not been chemically treated Ideal upgrade from standard disposable panel filters These filters are designed to last up to 3 months It is not recommend using this 4 inch air filter as a replacement for Trion Air Bear, Honeywell, Trane, or Space-Gard filters that usually run in 5 inch and 6 inch depths This 4 inch air filter is meant for commercial applications as well as those customers looking for increased efficiency in their homes if their air return can specifically support a 4 inch filter This product is listed and rated by Underwriters Laboratories as Class 2
